Where every little obit helps |
VOLUNTEER / CONTACT
This page was last updated: Thursday June 12, 2008
| Always looking for volunteers who will look for obituaries in Ontario. Please send me an email if you are willing to help out others, letting me know which publications you have access to. Names and contact information will remain with me to avoid an influx of requests, unless you specify otherwise. |
Here are a few other ways you can help:
4Send obituaries to me - typed (Microsoft software, text file, or rtf) or scanned (jpeg, gif, or adobe acrobat) in via e-mail, or by post (see contact info at bottom of page). Old and new obituaries are welcome.
4Help me obtain obituaries and index. There are so many ways!!! :)
4Already indexing for the Obituary Daily Times? I refuse to copy others' work, which means there are more than two people indexing the same publication. If you would like to offer your indexes and obits, that would save me A LOT of time to cover other publications.
4Would you like to help me transcribe obituaries from scans/paper copies?
4Send me links that you think would help us research in Ontario.
4Report errors, broken links, new links, additional information (i.e. if no maiden name was reported on an index and you know it for a fact, let me know so I can add it, let me know about typos, etc.)
4If you are waiting for an obituary or a request to be posted, and you haven't received a reply in 48 hours, send me a gentle reminder. Between indexing, collecting and three children, it gets a little hectic sometimes.
4When you find an obituary for yourself, print the entire page of obits and send them to me. Saves going back next time.
4There are other ways... contact me and we can discuss. Maybe you can look something up for someone? Please see Requests Do you subscribe to a publication that I haven't indexed? Let me know!
Thanks to everyone who views this page. Just having the heart to consider tells me there are more and more great people out there!
