WALKER - Margaret, Sarah, William

WALKER
(William, Sarah and Margaret) - Mulmur Township

I am sending you a photo of a tomb stone that has resided in my backyard since we moved here almost 30 years ago. The name on the stone is Walker and we purchased our home from the Walkers. They owned the farm across the road for over 100 years and it was a centennial farm.
The inscription is slowly getting lost

It reads:
In memory of three children of William and Mary Ann Walker
William died September 30, 1863 aged 8 years 10 months 16 days
Sarah died 10 October 1863 aged 2 years, 10 months 6 days
Margaret died 20 September 1863 aged 10 years 1 month 4 days

Thought perhaps it should be included somewhere so that the information does not get lost. We did offer the stone to the museum but they were not interested and not sure what else can be done with it.

Special thanks to Sue Fregeau for offering the photo and information.  Should you have a stone on your property, let me know.  You may be able to help many researchers with the information!  This is not limited to Dufferin County - we'll put any misplaced stones on "Field of Stones" for others to find.

(Should you be able to help Sue, please send a note to janet-jones@sympatico.ca )
