This cemetery is located on Highbury Ave. just north of St. Thomas (across from a farmer's market). Amongst the fields, this is a little wooded area just off the roadside.

This block of land was deeded to Hugh Douglas as trustee for a burying ground on June 2, 1845. Many pioneer families of the communities lie here with the first burial during the early 1830's. The Douglas family conveyed the cemetery to the trustees of the chapel of the Can. Wesleyan Methodist New Connection on Nov. 12, 1846. A frame church stood on the north-west section of the lot until about 1905. |
